The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced a full road closure for Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam on Tuesday and Wednesday. The closure will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to allow crews to unload and lower gates and associated equipment.
The Corps is coordinating the closure with emergency services and local law enforcement to minimize disruptions. Officials urge drivers to plan alternate routes and apologize for any inconvenience the work may cause.
Travelers attempting to access areas beyond the dam along Highway 178 will need to detour. Suggested routes include using Highway 178 and Highway 5 to Highway 126 through Midway and Gassville, Highway 62-412 through Flippin, or Highway 178 through Bull Shoals.
