Anthony Ray Snyder was arrested Wednesday after fleeing from police in Hoxie, prompting a search involving officers, a drone, and a K-9 unit, according to local authorities.
The incident began when Hoxie Police, along with officers from Arkansas Probation and Parole, attempted to take Snyder into custody at a residence on Affinity Street. Officials say Snyder fled the scene on foot, leading officers on an extended pursuit.
Law enforcement, with help from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Black Rock Police, coordinated efforts to locate Snyder. A drone was deployed, eventually spotting him in a field on the outskirts of Hoxie. A K-9 unit from Black Rock Police joined the pursuit and helped track the suspect.
The foot chase concluded when Lawrence County Sheriff Tony Waldrupe apprehended Snyder. Snyder was booked into the Lawrence County Detention Center, where he faces charges of fleeing on foot, interference with emergency communications, and second-degree terroristic threatening.
Snyder remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing and court date, according to officials.
