Students from Arkansas State University (A-State) will play an active role assisting voters in Craighead County during the upcoming general election and nonpartisan judicial runoff.

The Craighead County Election Commission convened on Friday, Oct. 23, to address election preparedness. Among the items on the agenda was the approval of additional poll workers to support local voting operations. The proposed measure received the commission’s approval, and officials confirmed that the majority of these new workers would be A-State students.

This collaboration is expected to help meet staffing demands at polling sites while providing students with firsthand experience in the electoral process.

The upcoming general election and judicial runoff are set to take place in Craighead County in the coming weeks.
