JONESBORO, Ark. — The Jonesboro Christmas Parade has announced its transition to nonprofit status, adopting a new charitable giving approach ahead of this year’s holiday festivities.

Under the plan, winners in each parade category will have the opportunity to select a nonprofit organization to receive a donation from the parade. Organizers said this change allows sponsorships, donations, and funds raised through the parade to directly support charitable causes within the community.

The 79th annual Jonesboro Christmas Parade is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, in downtown Jonesboro. This year’s theme, “The Night Before Christmas,” was announced on the parade’s website.

Event organizers emphasized that the goal is to unite the community in celebration while benefiting local nonprofits. A call for sponsors, donors, and parade participants has been issued to help fund the event and its expanded charitable efforts.

The nonprofit organization also intends to introduce its board of directors in the coming days to oversee its operations and ensure transparency in its initiatives.

Those interested in sponsoring, donating, or registering for the parade can find more details at JonesboroChristmasParade.org. The deadline for registration is 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27.
