A Paragould daycare worker was charged Thursday with second-degree battery following an investigation into injuries sustained by a child in her care, police said.
Jayden Grider, 20, was booked into the Greene County Detention Center on July 30. Officials say the charge stems from an incident where a child allegedly was pulled across a floor by the ankles, resulting in extensive abrasions.
The Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division and the Paragould Police Department began investigating after receiving a report of the incident. According to investigators, photo evidence of the child's injuries and a video of the incident corroborated the allegations.
Grider is being held at the Greene County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond. No additional details about the incident or the daycare facility were immediately available.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
