The Salem Greyhounds will face the Mountain View Yellowjackets tonight in a pivotal 3A-2 conference football matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Salem, looking to rebound from last week's 42-0 loss to Newport, enters the game with a 2-5 overall record and a 2-2 mark in conference play. Mountain View, fresh off a 38-0 victory over Yellville-Summit, also holds a 2-2 conference record and sits at 3-4 overall.

Statistically, the Yellowjackets hold a slight edge, averaging 20.6 points per game compared to Salem's 17.3 points. Both teams secured conference wins over Yellville-Summit and Marshall earlier in the season, while both fell to conference leaders Newport and Melbourne. The game is crucial for both teams, as Newport leads the conference standings at 4-0, with Melbourne also undefeated in league play at 4-0. Following Mountain View and Salem, Quitman carries a 2-2 record, while Yellville-Summit, Riverview, and Marshall round out the standings.

Elsewhere in the 3A-2 conference tonight, Melbourne hosts Yellville-Summit, Newport faces winless Marshall at home, and Riverview visits Quitman. All games begin at 7 p.m.
