JONESBORO – Arkansas State University's public media service, KASU, is collaborating with Arkansas Music Experience (AME) to host the first-ever Music Industry Meet-Up in Jonesboro. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brickhouse Bar and Grill, located at 218 South Main Street in downtown Jonesboro.

The gathering is free and open to all musicians, as well as individuals involved in the music industry, including photographers, graphic designers, sound engineers, recording studios, booking agents, radio station staff, merchandise creators, music educators, and videographers. Booth space will also be available for vendors who support live music.

AME, an organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting Arkansas's music heritage while empowering artists and industry professionals, has previously hosted similar meet-ups in cities such as Fayetteville, Conway, and Little Rock. The Jonesboro event marks the program’s expansion into eastern Arkansas and aims to connect local artists, managers, promoters, venue owners, media professionals, and community stakeholders. The goal is to spur collaboration, encourage talent, and foster industry growth in the region.

Marty Scarbrough, KASU's program director, described the vibrant energy of a Music Industry Meet-Up he attended in Fayetteville. “The atmosphere at that event was amazing. There were hundreds of musicians all together in one room, with people from across generations and across musical genres all supporting and encouraging one another,” Scarbrough said.

KASU has a longstanding commitment to supporting Arkansas musicians through its Arkansas Roots radio program. The show, which highlights recordings from past and current Arkansas-connected artists across various genres, airs weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
