A coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of Anthony Ray Snyder on Wednesday after he fled from officers in Hoxie.
According to authorities, Hoxie Police and officers with Arkansas Community Correction’s Probation and Parole Division were attempting to take Snyder into custody at a residence on Affinity Street when he fled on foot. Law enforcement tracked him to a field on the outskirts of Hoxie where he was spotted using a drone.
The pursuit involved assistance from a K-9 unit with the Black Rock Police Department, as well as additional support from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Hoxie Police Department. Sheriff Tony Waldrupe ultimately apprehended Snyder after an extended chase.
Snyder was taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center, where he was booked on charges including Fleeing on Foot, Interference with Emergency Communications, and Terroristic Threatening in the Second Degree. He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.
The use of drones and inter-agency cooperation played a key role in the timely resolution of the search. No injuries were reported during the incident.
