The Cotter City Council is set to meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber, with discussions highlighting fire department funding and water utility rates.
On the agenda is Resolution 2026-17, a measure supporting a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grant to acquire equipment for the Fire Department. The council will also consider Ordinance 2026-04, which seeks to establish contracted bulk water rates for the city.
Additional updates include the selection of Engineering Services Inc. to manage future renovations for Cotter’s wastewater treatment facility. The council will also review plans for the 2025 Water and Sewer Audit, as well as the 2025 General City Audit.
The Highway Tank painting project, originally scheduled for this year, has been delayed due to weather conditions and is now expected to conclude in 2027. Meanwhile, the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s $400,000 street-aid paving project is planned to open for bids in early 2027.
Ahead of the weekend, the council will share details about the upcoming Cotter Community Block Party, set to take place Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. on the grounds of City Hall.
The meeting will close with public announcements, council member comments, and adjournment. The next regular city council meeting is scheduled for November 18 at 6 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend.
