The Rotary Club of Mountain Home, founded in 1946, is celebrating eight decades of service to the community. The milestone was marked with an event on Thursday at the Big Creek Country Club, where past and present members gathered to enjoy cake, ice cream, and camaraderie.
As part of the celebration, the Rotary has launched an initiative called "Worth the Weight," encouraging the community to support the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas. Rotary members are accepting monetary donations through November 30, which will be converted into their food-weight equivalent to illustrate the impact of the contributions.
Rebecca Raynor, president of the Mountain Home Rotary Club, emphasized the alignment between the Food Bank’s mission and the Rotary’s guiding motto, “Service Above Self.” Organizations and individuals are invited to participate by attending the birthday event or mailing donations to the Rotary Club at P.O. Box 1509, Mountain Home, AR 72654.
On November 14, the club will also volunteer at the Food Bank to pack meals, offering another way to support those in need.
The Rotary Club of Mountain Home has evolved over the course of its 80 years, consistently focusing on community service and civic engagement. For more information and updates, area residents can contact the club directly.
