A precautionary boil water order has been issued for residents of Golf Course Terrace in Bull Shoals after a water main break disrupted the area’s system.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), the advisory was issued Wednesday as a precaution due to the potential for contamination after a loss of normal water pressure. Officials warn that unsafe water could have entered the distribution system during the break.
Affected residents are advised to boil any water used for drinking or food preparation for at least one minute at a rolling boil. Ice cubes made with potentially contaminated water should be discarded, and only boiled or bottled water should be used to make ice.
This boil water order will remain in place until the system has been repaired, disinfectant levels are verified, and laboratory tests confirm the water is free of bacterial contamination. Residents are instructed to follow the advisory until it is officially lifted by the ADH.
For updated information, residents may refer to announcements from the Arkansas Department of Health or local authorities.
