A motorcyclist from New Jersey died Sunday after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 in West Memphis, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

The crash happened at approximately 2:38 p.m. on October 18 near the 277-mile marker, ASP stated in its preliminary fatal crash summary.

Lorenzo Kozenskie, 36, of Absecon, New Jersey, was traveling east on a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when traffic began to slow due to congestion. Kozenskie failed to stop in time and struck the rear of a 2024 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was also traveling east, the report detailed.

Kozenskie sustained severe injuries and was transported to Regional One Health in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead.

Trooper Dylan Evans, who prepared the crash report, noted that weather conditions were clear, and the road was dry at the time of the collision.

The investigation into the crash continues. Additional information was not immediately available.
