The Izard County Sheriff’s Department has released a list of addresses associated with registered level three and level four sex offenders under its jurisdiction, encouraging parents to avoid these locations during Halloween. According to Sheriff Charley Melton, the public notice is published in compliance with the Arkansas Sex Offender Act and is designed to help parents make safer choices when trick-or-treating with their children.

Sheriff Melton added that individuals identified on the list are advised not to participate in Halloween activities involving interactions with children. This includes refraining from handing out candy or decorating their homes in a way that could attract young visitors.

The sheriff's office advises residents to visit its Facebook page for the full list. Additionally, a separate list of level two sex offenders, who qualify for public disclosure under Arkansas law, has been made available on the state website.

Level three and level four offenders are classified as higher-risk individuals based on assessments conducted under Arkansas statute, which considers the likelihood of reoffense and the nature of previous convictions. Publishing these details, particularly ahead of events like Halloween, is intended to bolster community safety and awareness.

Parents planning trick-or-treat routes are encouraged to review the information and exercise caution. Community members with concerns or questions are advised to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Department directly.
