The 16th annual Taste of the Twin Lakes fundraiser will take place Monday at the Baxter County Fairgrounds in Mountain Home. The event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., aims to raise funds for Serenity, Inc., an organization that provides free emergency shelter and services for individuals and families escaping domestic violence.
According to Serenity, Inc. Executive Director Stefany Isham, Taste of the Twin Lakes showcases a variety of local restaurant offerings, with participating vendors serving small sample plates to attendees. The event also features a friendly competition among the restaurants, with prizes awarded by a panel of judges.
In addition to food, beverages will be available, and music will be provided by DJ Peace. An auction will also be held during the evening, offering items such as fishing trips and jewelry. Isham noted that the event will include a mix of familiar and new businesses participating this year.
Tickets are available for $50 each and can be purchased at the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit Serenity, Inc., which serves North Arkansas not only through its shelter but also by offering advocacy, education, and resources to survivors of domestic violence. The organization has capacity to accommodate up to 30 individuals and families at any given time.
