A Mountain Home residence sustained heavy smoke damage Monday afternoon following a fire, according to the Mountain Home Fire Department (MHFD). No injuries were reported in the incident.
Fire crews responded to a call at 12:06 p.m. at 602 Ridgemont Drive, a home located just north of Baxter Health. When firefighters arrived, they observed heavy smoke coming from the garage area of the house.
The occupants had already evacuated the home prior to the firefighters’ arrival. MHFD personnel were able to locate and extinguish the fire quickly. While an estimated 15% of the structure was impacted by fire damage, the department noted that smoke damage affected the entirety of the house.
The property is owned by Bryan and Teresa Bell but is rented to other occupants. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately an hour and a half. No further details on the cause of the fire or the extent of repairs needed have been released.
