HOXIE, Ark. — The Hoxie Police Department has received a $9,894.94 donation from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin’s office to update its equipment, according to a department announcement.
The funding will be used to purchase four new body-worn cameras from 10-8 Video and six handheld radios, replacing some of the department’s existing devices described as outdated.
Detective Sgt. Joshua Rakoczy shared the announcement, dated October 16, with media outlets on October 17. The department expressed gratitude to Griffin and his staff for the contribution, which they referred to as a donation.
Details on the funding source, such as a specific grant program, whether matching funds are required, or any restrictions on spending or deadlines, were not mentioned in the release. There was also no information on when the new equipment would be in service.
The additional cameras and radios are expected to enhance department operations by providing officers with more reliable tools while in the field.
