The Arkansas State Police (ASP) has taken over the investigation of a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Gap Road in Batesville on Monday afternoon, the Batesville Police Department said in a statement.
According to the department, officers were dispatched to the scene around 4:40 p.m. to respond to the reported crash. Batesville police secured the area before transferring the investigation to state authorities upon their arrival.
Officials have not released any information regarding the cause of the crash, the number of individuals involved, or the extent of any injuries.
In a statement, the Batesville Police Department expressed condolences to those impacted by the incident. "Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt thoughts go out to the individuals and families affected by this tragic incident," the statement read.
Investigators from the Arkansas State Police are now leading the ongoing inquiry into the crash.
