Entergy Arkansas has announced a transformative partnership with Google to enhance the state's power grid without imposing additional costs on its ratepayers. Company officials outlined plans for significant infrastructure investments expected to save customers at least $500 million over 20 years, beginning in 2028.

Under the agreement, Google will cover all expenses for its power needs, enabling Entergy Arkansas to secure $2.1 billion in net benefits. These funds will offset the fixed costs shared across its customer base and help finance critical grid upgrades. Entergy Arkansas serves approximately 738,000 customers statewide.

“Google is increasing its investment in West Memphis and building on the significant success of its first phase,” said Laura Landreaux, president and CEO of Entergy Arkansas. “We are delivering on our promise to all Entergy Arkansas customers to create value for everyone we serve by ensuring Google is not only paying 100% of its power needs but is also contributing to the existing grid and lowering the costs for everyone else.”

Landreaux noted the partnership aligns with Entergy’s 'Fair Share Plus' pledge, which ensures major corporate investments benefit all customers. She also highlighted the broader advantages of the collaboration for West Memphis, where Google continues to expand operations.

Details on specific infrastructure improvements have not yet been released, but officials emphasize that the initiative aims to prepare the state’s grid for future needs while generating long-term savings for residents and businesses alike.
