A Bella Vista man died after a collision on Interstate 49 in Bentonville when his vehicle struck a portable toilet that had fallen into the roadway.

The Arkansas Department of Public Safety identified the man as 56-year-old Ronald Langley. Authorities reported that Langley was driving southbound near mile marker 86 at approximately 2 p.m. on July 24 when the incident occurred.

Investigators stated that a truck traveling in the middle lane was hauling two portable toilets, one of which fell onto the highway. Langley’s vehicle collided with the fallen structure, resulting in the crash.

Emergency responders transported Langley to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Arkansas Department of Public Safety has confirmed that the crash remains under investigation.

Following the accident, Langley’s family launched an online fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses and provide support for his wife and daughter. According to the fundraiser description, the family was already facing financial difficulties before the tragedy occurred.
