JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man is in custody after being accused of peeping into his neighbor’s daughter’s bedroom window on multiple occasions.

Carl Wayne Deal, 66, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of video voyeurism, a Class C felony. He is being held on a $200,000 cash or surety bond.

According to the arrest affidavit, Jonesboro police responded to a home on Mardis Drive on Oct. 16 after a resident reported a trespasser. The homeowner provided surveillance footage that he said showed Deal “knowingly looking into” his daughter’s bedroom.

Detective Dustin McKenzie stated in court documents that the security camera system captured Deal triggering the surveillance system 13 times within a 42-minute period, between 7:09 p.m. and 7:51 p.m.

“The video captured Deal approaching the residential window wearing only a pair of shorts with no shirt,” McKenzie wrote in the affidavit. “Deal was observed crouching down and dropping to his hands and knees to peer directly through the windowpane.”

The homeowner told investigators his daughter was inside the room at the time, “actively sorting through her closet in various stages of undress,” the affidavit stated.

On Oct. 17, police obtained a warrant for Deal’s arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the Craighead County Detention Center. A judge also ordered that, if released on bond, Deal must wear a GPS ankle monitor and have no contact with the alleged victim.

Deal is scheduled to appear in Craighead County Circuit Court on Nov. 23.
