Izard County STEM High School students achieved strong results at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) Generation Conservation Regional Competition, which took place October 7 at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View. Leading their accomplishments, the IC STEM Quiz Bowl team placed first overall with an undefeated record, securing their qualification for the state-level competition in November.

The school also saw notable performances in other events. The Cougars Flamemasters Culinary team, composed of students Keelan Gross, Payton Speake, and Destiny Wisecarver, earned second place out of eight competing teams. Meanwhile, Landon Gross secured third place in the air rifle competition and will advance to the upcoming state competition.

The AGFC Generation Conservation program combines educational opportunities with competitive events, encouraging students to engage with conservation efforts across Arkansas. For Izard County STEM students, their success marks a significant achievement within this initiative.
