JONESBORO, Ark. – Refuge Church West held its third annual “Blocktober” event Saturday, drawing families from across the community for free food, games, and festivities.
The event also featured complimentary Bibles, provided in partnership with The Gideons International. According to event organizers, more than 500 attendees pre-registered for the celebration, which aimed to create a welcoming and safe environment for families.
“We just want to welcome everybody to come out and take part in what’s going on, and especially to the community,” said Pastor Michael Harmon. “It’s just an event for the community to come out and be a part of something safe, fun, and learn about Jesus.”
Harmon noted that last year’s Blocktober event drew over 1,100 attendees, and organizers anticipated a similar turnout for this year’s gathering.
The celebration is part of Refuge Church West’s ongoing effort to engage residents of Jonesboro and surrounding areas, providing an opportunity for connection and fellowship in a family-friendly atmosphere.
