The 114th Arkansas State Gospel Singing Convention will continue Saturday at the Sidney Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Drawing enthusiasts from across Arkansas and surrounding states, the event is expected to host a large gathering.
Beverly Meinzer, the convention president and longtime director of the Brockwell Gospel Music School, stated that songbooks commonly used at the music school will also be used during the event. Saturday’s program is scheduled to begin at noon, offering a full day of gospel music for attendees.
The convention, one of the oldest gospel singing events in the region, has long served as a gathering point for those passionate about traditional gospel music.
Sidney is located in Izard County, and the event continues to preserve and celebrate a long-standing musical tradition in rural Arkansas. Additional details about the program can be obtained directly from convention officials or by contacting the event organizers.
