A Greene County Tech High School football player has been cited for three counts of juvenile harassment following an investigation into alleged misconduct in the team’s locker room, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office reported receiving complaints on September 25 detailing incidents involving unwanted physical contact and behavior described as humiliating and harassing to multiple teammates. Statements provided by victims and witnesses were collected during interviews conducted by Jamie Moore of the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division. Detective Sgt. Russ Latimer of the Greene County Sheriff's Office reviewed the interviews and took notes.
According to the statements, one victim alleged the offender wrestled them to the locker room floor while other players helped hold them down. The offender then reportedly exposed himself to the victim, who stated they yelled for help and asked the group to stop. Several witnesses, including others described as victims, corroborated the account of the incident.
A second victim reported a similar situation in which they were restrained while the offender exposed himself.
A third victim described a separate incident in which the offender and other players pursued them after practice, reportedly attempting to administer "birthday spankings." The victim stated they hid in a nearby baseball dugout until the players left. A witness confirmed that the offender and others had been searching for the victim.
Based on these accounts, Detective Sgt. Latimer issued the football player a juvenile citation for three counts of harassment, with each count corresponding to one of the victims identified.
For now, no further details have been released due to the involvement of minors. In a statement, administrators from the Greene County Tech School District indicated they will resume their own investigation to determine the roles of everyone involved and implement appropriate disciplinary measures.
Officials encourage anyone with additional information to contact the school or law enforcement to assist in the ongoing investigation.
