A Jonesboro man has been charged following a shooting incident in the Walmart parking lot on Highland Drive. Craighead County authorities formally charged 28-year-old Hayden Paul Freeman with criminal mischief in the first degree, a felony, and four misdemeanor offenses: discharging a firearm within city limits, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and carrying a weapon.

The Jonesboro Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the parking lot on Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers located Freeman sitting in his vehicle. Witnesses at the scene reported that Freeman had been behaving erratically and firing shots from his vehicle at another parked car, resulting in damage. Investigators reviewed video footage that corroborated the witness statements. Officers recovered over a dozen shell casings at the scene.

Freeman is currently being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. A judge has also ordered him to wear an ankle monitor.

The investigation remains ongoing.
