Gospel music enthusiasts from across Arkansas and surrounding states are gathering in Sidney this weekend for the 114th Arkansas State Gospel Singing Convention. The event is being held at the Sidney Cumberland Presbyterian Church and features two programs—one on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and another on Saturday at noon.

Convention president Beverly Meinzer said a large turnout is expected for the annual gathering. Meinzer, who also serves as director of the Brockwell Gospel Music School, noted that songbooks commonly used at the school will be utilized throughout the convention.

The Arkansas State Gospel Singing Convention is a long-standing tradition, bringing together singers, musicians, and fans of gospel music to celebrate the genre. Organizers and attendees look forward to two days of fellowship and performances celebrating this rich musical heritage.
