Job seekers in Sharp County and nearby communities are invited to attend the Local Launch Sharp County Job Fair on Friday, October 16, at Ozarka College's Ash Flat campus. The free event will feature 25 employers and organizations from various industries, offering attendees opportunities to explore local career options and meet with hiring professionals.
The job fair will showcase businesses and sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, hospitality, public safety, and human services. Confirmed participants include Emerson, Bad Boy Mowers, White River Health, Baxter Regional, Artisan Grill, and Lacroix Optical, alongside public service and workforce organizations.
Graycen Bigger, Executive Director of Northeast Arkansas Intermodal, said the event aims to strengthen connections between employers and job seekers in the community. “Whether you’re looking for your first job, thinking about a career change, or just aren’t sure where to start, this is a chance to talk with employers, ask questions, and get some help figuring out your next step,” Bigger explained.
The event has a schedule tailored to accommodate students and the general public. Ozarka College students will have an exclusive opportunity to meet with employers from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The fair will then open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes and take advantage of the event’s additional resources, which include resume tips, career coaching, and job search guidance. Representatives from Ozarka College will also be available to discuss workforce training and educational programs.
Local Launch is organized by Northeast Arkansas Intermodal in partnership with Ozarka College, the Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services. It’s part of a broader effort to connect community members with local career and skill-building opportunities.
