The Friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery will host a dinner, meeting, and fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 23, at Gaston’s White River Resort Conference Center, located at 1777 River Road in Lakeview.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a social hour, with dinner and the evening’s program beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are priced at $50 per person and include a meal from Gaston’s and adult beverages. Online ticket sales will close on Friday, Oct. 16.

Clint Gaston, fourth-generation owner of the renowned resort, will deliver the keynote address. The event will also celebrate the contributions of Norfork National Fish Hatchery staff, volunteers with the Friends group, and partnering organizations that support the hatchery’s operations.

The Friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery is a nonprofit organization chartered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The group works to promote the hatchery, which is located at the base of Norfork Dam and produces approximately 2.5 million rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout annually. These fish are stocked in waterways across Arkansas and are a key component of the trout fishing economy in Baxter and Marion counties. The group describes the facility as the largest cold-water fish hatchery in the United States.

Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased online through the Friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery’s PayPal link.
