CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. — A Quitman man died following a motorcycle crash on State Highway 5 in Cleburne County earlier this week, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.
Jay Ryan, 61, was traveling northbound on the highway when the crash occurred on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 10, at approximately 10:56 a.m. Authorities say Ryan was negotiating a left curve when he lost control of his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
According to the police summary, weather conditions were clear, and the road surface was dry at the time of the incident.
The crash is part of a preliminary fatal crash report compiled by Cpl. Jess Burris of the Arkansas State Police.
