The Salem Greyhounds are aiming to achieve back-to-back victories for the first time this football season, but they face a challenging road game against the Newport Greyhounds this Friday night.
Coming off a dominant 57-0 home victory over Marshall, Salem will travel to eastern Arkansas for the matchup. Newport, led by head coach Brian Reardon—formerly the head coach of the Southside Southerners—presents a significant test for Salem, according to Salem head coach Billy Webber.
Webber has emphasized the importance of a strong defensive performance in Friday’s game, noting that both teams heavily utilize their running games. For Salem, maintaining control on both sides of the ball and executing their rushing attack effectively will be critical in their bid for a win.
Kickoff at Newport High School is scheduled for 7 p.m.
