Jonesboro, Ark. – The annual 'Stuff the Bus' school supply drive is set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 1, offering Northeast Arkansas residents a chance to support local students as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
The event, organized by the United Way of Northeast Arkansas in partnership with local organizations, will coincide with Arkansas's Tax-Free Weekend. Donations of school supplies can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at designated yellow school buses located outside participating Walmart stores across the region.
Collected supplies will benefit students in 21 area school districts, helping ensure they have the tools needed for a successful start to the academic year.
Organizers encourage the community to look for the prominent yellow school buses stationed near the entrances at Walmarts throughout Northeast Arkansas and contribute items ranging from pencils and notebooks to backpacks and art supplies.
