A 19-year-old Batesville woman has been arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance in which a man was reportedly struck with a hammer and robbed of $300.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Talynn Kay Cryderman was taken into custody on October 14, several days after the incident occurred. Police said they responded to a call about a possible physical domestic disturbance at 949 Oak Street at approximately 11:36 p.m. on October 10.

At the scene, officers found Joe Harper standing outside the residence, bleeding from a head wound and appearing unsteady, the affidavit states. Harper described the events leading up to his injuries, saying that he and Cryderman had been drinking at his residence. When he asked her to leave, Harper alleged that Cryderman struck him with a hammer, took $300 in cash from him, and left the residence. He also alleged that Cryderman locked him out of the home before fleeing.

Emergency medical responders with Vital Link EMS transported Harper to White River Medical Center, where he was treated for a 3-to-4-inch laceration on the upper left portion of his head and a broken left wrist, according to police.

The affidavit states that officers attempted to contact Cryderman at her Vine Street residence later that night and again the following day. They reported hearing activity inside the residence but said no one answered the door during either visit.

Cryderman is now facing one count of second-degree domestic battery, a Class C felony, and one count of theft of property, a Class A misdemeanor. Court records show her bond was set at $25,000. Her first appearance in court is scheduled for October 27.

The investigation remains ongoing.
