WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. — A job fair aimed at connecting local job seekers with employers is set for Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1217 W. Main St., near Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The event is a collaboration between Arkansas Workforce Connections, Lawrence Healthcare, and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.
The Arkansas Workforce Connections Mobile Workforce Center will be present, equipped with computers, internet access, and staff to assist attendees. Job seekers will have the opportunity to explore job listings and complete applications on-site.
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce is compiling job openings from its member organizations to feature on its online Jobs Board and to share during the fair, providing local employers with a platform to connect with potential applicants.
"Helping employers find workers and helping residents find opportunities are both part of building a stronger local economy," said Terrence Ward, executive director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. "This event brings job listings, technology, and hands-on assistance together so people can take that next step."
Employers who are members of the chamber are encouraged to submit job descriptions and application guidelines for inclusion in the event.
