A juvenile driver lost their life early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 49 near Brookland, according to an Arkansas State Police Highway Incident Report.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:18 a.m. on East Johnson Avenue. The report by Trooper Victor Garcia states that the driver, operating a 2023 Ford F-150, was traveling southbound when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

The juvenile driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the driver’s name, age, or place of residence.

Weather and road conditions were not deemed contributing factors, with the incident report noting dry roads and clear skies at the time of the crash.
