The Twin Lakes area is expected to see an increase in rainfall this week, with an 80% to 90% chance of showers on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Cooler temperatures are also predicted for the weekend, with nighttime lows potentially dipping into the low 40s by Saturday.
Meteorologist Alex Young confirmed that a passing cold front is likely to bring significant precipitation to the region. However, even with anticipated rainfall, ongoing drought conditions stemming from late summer may not be significantly alleviated.
Young also noted that while temperatures are set to drop, the likelihood of an early frost in the near future remains low. The NWS forecasts that frost is unlikely over the next 10 days, despite cooler nights. Historically, the Twin Lakes area sees its first fall frost around October 27, with only a 30% probability for frost on average at that time.
Residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware as rain moves into the area midweek and cooler conditions settle in over the weekend.
