PARAGOULD, Ark. — The Paragould Run Club will hold its third annual “ParaGhoul” race on Tuesday, Oct. 24, beginning at 8 a.m. in downtown Paragould. Runners of all ages and abilities can choose from a 5K, a 10K, or a kids' fun run, which covers about half a mile.
All races will start near The Crossing Church, with 315 participants already registered. According to organizers, roughly 55% of those participants are traveling from outside Greene County.
The event received financial backing from the Paragould Advertising and Promotion Commission, which allocates revenue from a 3% lodging tax in the city. This grant helps support activities that draw visitors to Paragould, boosting local tourism and economic activity.
Chris Collier, co-founder of the Paragould Run Club, highlighted the race’s broader community impact.
“Our purpose is to attract people to the great city of Paragould, to promote healthy lives, and to raise money for charitable organizations that are doing good work in our community,” Collier said.
To align with its Halloween theme, the event will also feature a costume contest. Participants are encouraged to dress up, with prizes awarded for the top three costumes.
Those interested in registering for any of the races can sign up online at runsignup.com.
