Arkansas State University will celebrate Homecoming Week from Oct. 20 to Oct. 24 with events for alumni, students, and fans, culminating in the Red Wolves football game Saturday evening.
This year's theme, "Into the Howlverse," draws inspiration from the animated film *Into the Spider-Verse*. Activities throughout the week will embrace the Marvel-inspired theme while highlighting A-State's traditions and community spirit.
Homecoming festivities kick off with the Strong-Turner Black Alumni Chapter's annual business meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, in the Reng Student Union. Later that evening, the chapter will host a Casino Night and Spades Tournament from 8 to 11 p.m., also at the student union. The chapter will conclude the weekend with a scholarship brunch on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to noon in the same location.
Alumni engagement continues with a Homecoming Tailgate hosted by the A-State Alumni Association on game day, Saturday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The event, open to all ages, features free food and drinks, bounce houses, televisions streaming games, and performances by the A-State band. Amanda McDaniel, director of alumni events and affinity relations, encouraged attendees to "come hungry and ready for a good time."
The Alumni Association will also honor the 2026 Distinguished Alumni—Dr. Timothy D. Langford, Phillip T. Poston, and Dr. Billy Don Tiner—at a morning event and again during halftime of the football game. Additionally, the association is hosting a 50-year reunion for the Class of 1976 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Cooper Alumni Center. The gathering provides an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with former classmates and share memories before cheering on the Red Wolves.
"Homecoming is really about connection," McDaniel said. "It brings generations together and reminds us that A-State will always be part of your story. For alumni who haven’t been back in a while, it’s exciting to see how much the campus has changed while still feeling that familiar A-State spirit."
A wide range of student-focused events organized by the Student Activities Board will also take place throughout Homecoming Week, leading up to the matchup between the A-State Red Wolves and Georgia State at Centennial Bank Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.
