PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man is in custody on a $50,000 bond after authorities say he forcibly entered his ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulted her.

Judge Curtis Hitt of the Greene County District Court found probable cause to arrest Theodore Seggerman on charges stemming from the incident. Seggerman faces one Class A felony charge of aggravated residential burglary and three Class A misdemeanor charges: domestic battering in the third degree, theft of property, and interference with emergency communication.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Seggerman allegedly kicked in the door of the victim’s home on Sunday, leading to what Investigator Hunter De Sesso described as a "brief verbal altercation." The victim told authorities that she announced her intention to call the police, at which point Seggerman reportedly took her cell phone and fled the scene.

The victim sustained injuries to her arm during the encounter, police said in the affidavit.

Officers apprehended Seggerman and transported him to the Greene County Detention Center, where he remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance. In addition to setting bail, Judge Hitt ordered that Seggerman have no contact with the victim and prohibited him from possessing firearms should he bond out.

No further details have been released about the incident.
