The Salem Greyhounds athletic program recently highlighted the achievements of several student-athletes across various sports and activities.

The Junior High volleyball team was recognized for finishing as conference runners-up this week ahead of the district volleyball tournament. The tournament begins Monday at Melbourne High School, where Salem is scheduled to face Cave City in the opening round at 12 p.m. in Game 3.

Homecoming festivities also took center stage, celebrating this year’s royalty. Ava Hall was crowned as Princess, Caleb Smith as King, and Natalie Burk as Queen.

In cross country, Salem’s Stacey Fletcher secured an admirable 14th place in the senior girls’ division during the Pioneer Invitational, while Hadley Friend finished 13th in the junior girls’ division.

The Greyhounds’ boys’ golf team also received recognition for their efforts at the 3A State Golf Tournament, held at Diamante Country Club. The team—comprising Jax Fowler, Asher Renegar, Hoyt Smith, and Tennyson Leslie—finished 11th overall. Renegar earned individual honors by being named to the All-State golf team.

Salem athletes continue to represent their school with significant achievements in both athletics and extracurricular activities.
