The Randolph County Quorum Court convened in a special session last Thursday to address the potential development of a data center in Pocahontas. During the meeting, members expressed the need for additional time and research before taking any action on the matter.
County Judge Ben Wicker informed the court that a buyer had recently contacted officials about acquiring property in the area for a possible data center project. According to Judge Wicker, the same buyer is also exploring other potential sites for similar centers in the region.
At this time, no formal agreements or moves have been made beyond the initial expression of interest. Officials have emphasized the importance of gathering further information before proceeding.
