The 16th annual Taste of the Twin Lakes fundraiser, benefiting Serenity Inc.'s domestic violence shelter, is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at the Baxter County Fairgrounds, 1507 Fairgrounds Drive, in Mountain Home.
Tickets to the event are $50 per person and include dinner, drinks, and entertainment provided by DJ Peace. Guests will have the opportunity to sample food from local restaurants, bakeries, food trucks, and other vendors. The event will also feature live and silent auctions.
This year’s theme, “Purple Harvest,” celebrates the fall season while highlighting October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Purple is the symbolic color of domestic violence awareness.
“Sixteen years of Taste of the Twin Lakes is really a reflection of how much this community cares,” said Serenity Executive Director Stefany Isham in a news release. Isham emphasized that every ticket sold, business participating, and guest attending directly helps the organization provide critical services.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Purple Door, Serenity’s thrift boutique; the Serenity Inc. offices; and the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce.
All funds raised will support Serenity Inc., which operates the domestic violence shelter serving Baxter, Marion, and Fulton counties. Services provided by Serenity include emergency shelter for men, women, and children, court advocacy, assistance obtaining orders of protection, resources for housing and employment, and education on healthy relationships and domestic violence awareness.
Serenity also operates a 24-hour hotline for those in need at 870-424-7233.
For more information about the Taste of the Twin Lakes fundraiser or Serenity's work, community members are encouraged to contact Serenity directly or visit their local offices.
