The 14th Annual Arkansas State Singing Convention will be held this weekend in Sidney, offering gospel music enthusiasts a chance to gather and celebrate the tradition of shape-note singing.

Convention President Beverly Misner, who also serves as the longtime director of the Brockwell Gospel Music School, shared her enthusiasm for welcoming guests from across Arkansas and neighboring states. The event will use the same songbooks featured at the Brockwell Gospel Music School, offering participants a familiar repertoire of beloved hymns and gospel tunes.

The convention is open to the public and will begin on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m., with a continuation on Saturday starting at 12:00 p.m. All activities will take place at the Sidney Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located on Highway 58.

For residents of Arkansas and the surrounding region, the annual event has become a cherished tradition, drawing attendees for its rich blend of musical fellowship and cultural preservation.
