The Arkansas Razorbacks extended their Southeastern Conference losing streak to 14 games on Saturday, falling 24-17 to No. 15 Tennessee at home. Despite briefly leading in the third quarter, Arkansas couldn’t hold off a late rally by the Volunteers, frustrating fans and leaving the program searching for its first conference win in nearly two years.

The Razorbacks (2-4, 0-3 SEC) held a 17-14 lead early in the fourth quarter after Max Bryant connected on a 55-yard field goal with 7:20 remaining. However, Tennessee responded decisively. Running back DeSean Bishop broke free for a pivotal 59-yard run that set up his 8-yard touchdown carry with just over four minutes left. The Volunteers (5-1, 2-1 SEC) regained the lead, and their defense held firm in the game’s closing moments.

With 1:36 remaining and Arkansas trailing by a touchdown, the Razorbacks opted to punt on a fourth-down play, a decision that drew boos from the home crowd at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Many fans began leaving early as the Razorbacks’ final offensive opportunity slipped away.

Sophomore quarterback George MacIntyre led Tennessee in his first career start, throwing for 247 yards and a touchdown despite two interceptions. He filled in for starter Faizon Brandon, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury. Tennessee coach Josh Heupel praised MacIntyre’s composure, calling it a "winning performance" under challenging circumstances.

MacIntyre’s sharpest moments came during the fourth quarter. He launched a 68-yard pass to wide receiver DeSaahn Brame on the first play of a key drive, setting up a short touchdown run by Brame to give the Volunteers a 3-point lead earlier in the quarter.

Arkansas quarterback KJ Jackson completed 15 of 27 passes for 155 yards with one touchdown in the loss. Following a rough first half, the Razorbacks came alive in the third quarter, scoring back-to-back touchdowns on consecutive drives to take their first SEC lead of the season. However, the late-game execution ultimately favored Tennessee, extending Arkansas’ winless conference drought.

Up next, Arkansas will head to Nashville to face Vanderbilt on Saturday, while Tennessee prepares for a challenging road matchup against Alabama.
