The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) has rescinded boil orders affecting two water systems in Jackson County following emergency repairs.
Officials announced that the advisories were lifted shortly after 2 p.m. Friday for customers of the North Jackson County Rural Water Association and Tuckerman Waterworks.
The boil orders were initially issued Thursday for all customers due to a water main break earlier in the week. According to a statement from the City of Tuckerman, a water line supplying the local water tower burst around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Crews worked late into the night to replace the damaged pipe with new PVC materials, restoring the system.
State health officials caution residents to observe any updates from their local water providers and to report any further issues with water quality. Boil orders are issued as a precaution while water supplies are tested for potential contamination.
Residents with questions regarding water safety can contact the Arkansas Department of Health or their local utilities provider.
