A 70-year-old Mountain Home man was airlifted to a Springfield, Missouri, hospital Thursday evening after a motorcycle accident in Gamaliel.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, the crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Arkansas State Highway 101. The man, whose name has not been released, was traveling south when he attempted to navigate a left-hand curve. Authorities say his motorcycle veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned, coming to a stop in a ditch.

The injured rider was transported by air to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Further details on his condition were not immediately available.
