IMBODEN, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) will hold a public meeting on Oct. 15 to gather community input on plans to replace the Spring River Bridge on U.S. Highway 62 in Imboden.
The meeting will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Imboden First Assembly of God, located at 5569 Highway 63.
Plans for the project include expanding travel lanes and adding sidewalks on both sides of the bridge, as well as along Highway 62 south of the river. Additionally, ARDOT aims to include wider shoulders on the highway north of the bridge to improve safety and traffic flow.
For those unable to attend in person, ARDOT has made the project proposal and a presentation video available on its website. Input from the public will be accepted online until 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 29.
The proposed improvements are part of an effort to modernize the aging bridge and enhance safety for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. ARDOT plans to work closely with the community to ensure the project addresses local needs.
