The Izard County Cougars are preparing to host Johnson County Westside on Friday night at Cougars Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last week, the Cougars secured a dramatic 28-20 comeback victory over Rosebud on the road. Izard County’s game-winning touchdown came with just eight seconds remaining, providing a boost of confidence for the team going into this matchup.
Head coach Carr Hill noted that the hard-fought win against Rosebud has positively impacted team morale. "Those kinds of positive plays...will carry over into the game against Westside," Hill said during a discussion with KTLO Sports.
According to Hill, Johnson County Westside employs an offensive approach similar to Rosebud, with some stylistic differences that may challenge the Cougars’ defense. Hill emphasized that the team’s success will depend on its ability to execute the game plan effectively.
Fans in Izard County will be looking to see if the Cougars can keep their momentum going as they defend their home turf this Friday night.
