The Bull Shoals City Council is set to meet Thursday evening to appoint a new mayor and address a comprehensive agenda of municipal business. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Bull Shoals City Hall, located at 706 C.S. Woods Boulevard. It will also be streamed live on the City of Bull Shoals Facebook page and is open to the public.
Under new business, the council will deliberate several resolutions, including potential back pay for police officers, amendments to the 2026 police general budget, and the removal of surplus city-owned items. Council members will also consider reinstating Resolution 2024-R-14 with proposed amendments and the repeal of three previously approved resolutions.
The agenda further includes technical and operational updates for city departments. One item focuses on seeking a low-voltage integration company to enhance the access control and security camera systems across city facilities. Additionally, the council will deliberate the purchase of a new computer for the Public Works Department and the removal of items from the former ALS building. Many of these items may later be repurposed for the police and fire departments.
Personnel matters are also on the table. The council is expected to discuss naming Ed Martin as interim water controller following the retirement of the current controller. Another measure involves changing the job title of Jamie Rogers to street supervisor without altering his current pay. The council will also review a proposal to allow nonprofit police and fire auxiliary organizations to utilize city equipment for their initiatives.
Finally, membership for the city's Budget Committee will be up for discussion.
