MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. — The Timbo Volunteer Fire Department will hold its biannual Gun & Knife Show this Saturday and Sunday at the Stone County Fairgrounds.

Now in its 25th year, the show serves as one of the department’s primary fundraisers. Proceeds from admission and concession sales go toward purchasing essential equipment for the volunteer firefighters. Speaking on a local radio program, Cody Turner, representing the fire department, emphasized the practical focus of the event. “We try to stick to the basics. We try to focus on just guns and knives and not have a lot of the fillers included,” Turner said. This approach, he noted, has bolstered the show's reputation as one of the region’s largest specialized events.

Following a particularly dry summer, Turner shared that the department is currently pursuing grants to replace aging Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units, which are critical for firefighter safety and operations. Funds raised through events like the Gun & Knife Show help supplement tight budgets for such purchases.

The event will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5, and attendees will find ample parking at the Stone County Fairgrounds. For additional information, those interested can contact 870-213-5106.
