JONESBORO – Over 150 students participated in the third annual Internship Open House hosted by the Neil Griffin College of Business at Arkansas State University, an event that connected them with 10 employers and provided opportunities to learn about internships and career paths.
Representatives from organizations including Hybar, the event’s lead sponsor, J.B. Hunt, Watco, New Horizon Bank, the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, H&R Block, State Farm, Enterprise Mobility, Centennial Bank, and Northwestern Mutual participated in the event. Employers spoke with students about open positions, organizational missions, and the skills they value in candidates.
Students introduced themselves to recruiters, engaged in discussions about various industries, and became more comfortable with professional interactions in a real-world setting. For many, the open house provided exposure to organizations and career paths they had not previously considered.
Fellow Griffin students also shared testimonials during the program, reflecting on the benefits of their own internship experiences. They spoke about the skills they gained, the lessons learned on the job, and how internships helped clarify their career aspirations.
The event showcased the tangible value of internships as students, employers, and recruiters came together to establish connections. Organizers highlighted the importance of internship experience as a bridge to long-term career success, providing students with practical insights and networking opportunities to support their professional growth.
